As we approach the first day of school, I'm also finding myself in the office more often than not. Must do the research, as you know! Unfortunately, spending so much time in KU's departmental rooms is only making me realise the rather negative aspects of some of my fellow students: namely, that they can be insufferable pissants.
I've never seen his face, but I believe I am well on the way to developing a nemesis here in the hallowed corridors of polisci. Yes, I understand we have to share a small enclosed space -- I understand resources are limited -- but likewise, a little bit of compassion will make this shared existence so much better. For example: not using my textbooks in my absence. Also not taking my articles. Also not doing charming doodles on my thesis draft. Also not smoking in the room whenever I'm out for the night -- it is against faculty procedure to smoke indoors, you know!
I don't know if this fellow has a KingJournal, but if he does -- hello! I'm Ernest, your cubicle buddy! If you're reading this, it might be in your best interests to heed this advice. Either way, good lord. It's back to work for me. I don't really want to be indoors today, but there you have it.
ETA: The printers are broken.
ETA2: No, I take it back; tech support seems to have gotten on the issue. Still KingJournalling in lieu of actually working -- unusual lackadaisical attitude for myself. I blame the summer weather.
ETA3: Bored now.
ETA4: Printer just exploded
ink everywhere papers ruined

PROS OF NEW JOURNALLING SERVICE: • No photos -- the less drunken hijinks appear within my e-vicinity, the better. Facebook is bad enough, thank you very much -- and let's not even discuss Myspace and their eye-gougingly terrible layouts. • Lagged a bit immediately after launch, but that's to be expected -- been relatively fast loading times since then. Looks like our establishment's finally shaping up their tech division? • Locked to students only.
CONS OF KINGJOURNAL: • ... Locked to students only. • No icons(??) Even old-school Livejournal managed three. Unimpressed. • Good lord, does the administration have access to this? I don't think I'd want the deans to have a glimpse into my private life. And I don't think they'd appreciate it much, either. • No search function via classes. Would be useful -- but then again, do you honestly want to be in close contact with all of your TAs? I think not.
Regardless, yes, I am a TA. Our incoming freshmen seem a bit smarter than last year's, though that's certainly debatable.
